Summer Storm in Thailand
Issue 15 on 05 April 2021
From 5 to 6 April, outbreaks of summer storms, as well as scattered thunderstorms, gusty winds, and hail,
are forecast in the North, the Northeast, the Central, the East, including Bangkok and its vicinity and the upper South regions. Isolated heavy rains are also possible. People should beware of the severe conditions by avoiding from outdoor places, big trees, unsecured buildings and billboards. Farmers should prepare for crops damage.
Affected areas are as followings:
5 April 2021
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Kamphaengphet and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Nong Bua Lam Phu, Nong Khai, Udon Thani, Chaiyaphum, Khon Kaen,
Nakhon Ratchasima, Buriram and Surin.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Sing Buri, Ang Thong,
Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Suphan Buri, Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Samut Songkhram,
Samut Sakhon and Nakhon Pathom including Bangkok and its vicinity.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaeo, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
South: Phetchaburi and Prachuap Khiri Khan.
6 April 2021
North: Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai, Lamphun, Lampang, Phayao, Phrae, Nan, Uttaradit, Tak, Sukhothai, Phitsanulok, Phichit, Kamphaengphet and Phetchabun.
Northeast: Loei, Khon Kaen, Chaiyaphum, Nakhon Ratchasima and Nong Bua Lam Phu.
Central: Nakhon Sawan, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lop Buri, Saraburi, Nakhon Pathom, Suphanburi, Kanchanaburi and Ratchaburi.
East: Nakhon Nayok, Chachoengsao, Chon Buri, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat.
The moderate high-pressure system covers upper Thailand and the South China Sea while the southerly and southeasterly winds prevail over the lower North, the Northeast, the Central including Bangkok and its vicinity, and the East regions. At the same time, the westerly trough move pass over the North, the Northeast and the upper Central regions. Hot to very hot weather continues in upper Thailand for several days
