From December 30, motorists who break the law at 30 intersections in Bangkok will be shot, no questions asked.
Cameras and censors being installed will automatically record a motorist's infringement and send a photo along with a traffic ticket to the wrongdoer's home.
The aim for this is to reduce arguments between police and motorists accused of running red lights, or stopping in prohibited areas and causing traffic jams, said deputy chief of traffic affairs Pol Maj-Gen Panu Kerdlarppol yesterday.

The 30 intersections affected include the Asoke-Petchaburi, Rama 9, Sathorn, Silom, the Phayathai, Victory Monument and Din Daeng intersections, he said.
The police would also get tough on motorists whose vehicles had no license plates or had material covering their license plates, he said.
Those found guilty of any of these offences were subject to Bt1,000 fines, he said, warning that law-breaking motorists couldn't hide, as the cameras will capture shots of both the front and rear of vehicles.
