Man accused of chopping off thumb for Bt16m compensation
Police are now investigating into a case in which a 38-year-old Phuket resident allegedly chopped off one of his thumbs in a bid to claim more than Bt16million compensation from 30 insurance companies.
Speaking to police, the doctor who treated Pichet Porntantipong said the 38yearold man lost his thumb in a suspicious manner. An expert confirmed that it was unlikely that Pichet would accidentally chop off his thumb while cooking.
Police begin investigating into the case after an insurance company became suspicious and lodged a complaint.
Verzekeringsfraude.
